Untitled Haiku

2nd place

Our second-place poems, by Tim Case of Montreal, impressed Gravel. He said
“These poems work really well as a suite. From a slow opening to death. Really,
really great progression.”
Lips opening slow.
Flakes of white snow dissolving,
tongues trading warm wet.
Peeling layers indoors,
too warm. Problem solved quickly,
naked in the dark.
Rhythm agreed on,
each push and each pull well timed.
Coming close to death.
